Customers often call me to inquire about the price of the product and say: "I have better pipe fittings, do not inferior goods." If the finished pipe fitting is viewed from the outside: it is difficult to distinguish between good and bad quality, and it is only known during use. The quality of the project pays attention to safety first, and once an accident occurs, it will cause irreparable losses.

I think the difference between good pipe fittings and sub-pipe fittings mentioned by customers is the difference between qualified pipe fittings products and unqualified pipe fittings products. According to my opinion, the difference between qualified pipe fittings and unqualified pipe fittings is mainly as follows:

1. The raw material of pipe fittings is the base material: in order to manufacture qualified pipe fittings products, qualified raw materials must be selected. That is, the steel pipes, steel plates and billets used for manufacturing pipe fittings must be products that have been tested and meet the corresponding national standards. In practice, in order to reduce production costs, bad manufacturers use pipes or other raw materials with unknown routes, some purchase engineering leftovers, some purchase defective pipes and test machine products processed by steel mills, some purchase retired oil and gas pipes that have reached their useful life and are scrapped, and some use low-grade steel instead of high-demand steel. For example, the seamless steel pipe of GB/T 8162 is used instead of the seamless steel pipe of GB/T8163, and even the welded steel pipe with treated welds is used instead of the seamless steel pipe. All these have brought endless hidden dangers to the purchaser.

2. Mold production of pipe fittings: The molding process of pipe fittings is inseparable from the pressing, extrusion and forging of the mold, which requires the factory to inspect various manufacturing molds frequently to reduce the defects such as strains and scratches in the molding process of pipe fittings as much as possible.

3. Pipe heat treatment: The main function of heat treatment is to eliminate stress, reduce hardness, refine grains, and improve organizational structure. In the case of stainless steel, it means austenitizing. In particular, cold-formed pipe fittings must all be heat treated. However, very small factories still use small coal furnaces for heat treatment, and the work depends on the experience of workers, and the furnace temperature is unstable and uneven, and the heat treatment effect cannot be guaranteed.

4. Pipe fittings non-destructive testing (NDE) : National standards and international standards have corresponding provisions for the non-destructive testing of formed pipe fittings products. For example, the cold extrusion tee must be 100% magnetic particle detection, and the weld must be 100% X-ray detection. However, some factories, because they do not have the testing force, or have a lucky mind, or are too confident, omit the essential non-destructive testing links, and do not find the surface or internal major defects that already exist in the product, which foreshadows the hidden dangers.

5. Pipe end preparation: Most pipe fittings will be welded with pipes or other pipe fittings at the project site. This requires that the roundness, thickness and groove of the end of the pipe must be well processed, otherwise it will bring difficulty to the welding of the engineering site, and then affect the quality of the engineering welding. Some people think: the wall thickness of our pipe fittings is not worse, much thicker than the customer's requirements, there should be no problem. As everyone knows, too thick end thickness will also cause on-site welding.
